Advertising Federation at LSU (AdFed)
The LSU chapter of AdFed's primary mission is to protect and promote the well-being of advertising. The organization accomplishes this by providing guest speakers, conferences and agency tours to help students grasp a better understanding of the industry, as well as develop ideas for creative advertising solutions and trends.

Bateman Case Study Competition
The Bateman Case Study Competition is PRSSA’s premier national case study competition for public relations students and provides an opportunity to apply classroom education and internship experiences to create and implement a full public relations campaign.

Geaux Vote LSU promotes voter registration regardless of political affiliation or candidate. The organization also promotes civic engagement by encouraging students to campaign for causes affecting LSU students and providing students with the resources to do so.

Kappa Tau Alpha Honor Society
Kappa Tau Alpha is a college honor society that recognizes academic excellence and promotes scholarship in journalism and mass communication. Membership is by invitation only and based solely on excellence in academic work, scholarship and character.

LSU Mock Trial
Mock Trial teams consist of students interested in law, debate and theater. Students are assigned a national case in August, prepare arguments and witnesses for both sides, and compete in tournaments in the spring. Mock trial may be a good fit for students interested in the 3+3 Program.

Manship School College Council
The Mass Communication College Council is the student government organization in the Manship School. The Mass Communication College Council represents student interests to the Manship School administration in LSU Student Government. Students of each academic college elect a President, Vice President and three Member-At-Large (MAL) representatives to their College Council. Members are elected for a one-year term each spring semester.

Gumbo
The Gumbo yearbook chronicles news, sports and entertainment highlights of the academic year at LSU. Gumbo also publishes "Humans of LSU" to showcase the diversity of the LSU community. In 2018, Gumbo transitioned to a digital-only yearbook.

Manship Ambassadors
The Manship Ambassadors are a select group of students dedicated to serving and representing
the Manship School. Manship Ambassadors help recruit exceptional students, give tours
of facilities, meet with dignitaries and visitors and attend Manship School student
orientations for newly admitted students. Incoming sophomores,
juniors or seniors in the Manship School are eligible to apply.

The Reveille
The Reveille is LSU’s student-run newspaper. Each semester, approximately 70 student journalists produce the twice-per-week print edition and publish daily to LSUReveille.com and its mobile app. Participating students serve as editors, reporters, photographers, copy editors, columnists and page designers.

Society of Politics, Communication and Law
The Society of Politics, Communication and Law (SPCL) aims to provide networking, internships and political discussions supplemental to the classroom for those students inclined to pursue a path involving politics, communication and law.

Student Media Advertising and Marketing
The Advertising and Marketing department of LSU Student Media is a key player in generating advertising revenue for the Office of Student Media. Students gain real-world experience in sales, account management, event planning, market research and graphic design. Students also build internal advertising campaigns to promote Student Media to the LSU community.

Tiger TV
Tiger TV broadcasts live news, sports and entertainment programs four days a week via livestream and two days a week on WBTR, cable channel 19. Tiger TV employs approximately 60 LSU students each semester as news, sports and entertainment reporters, programmers, on-air personalities and more. Programming includes live home football game-day shows and daily newscasts.

Cold Case Project
A Manship School of Mass Communication effort to bring closure to unsolved Civil Rights-era, Klan-related homicides in Louisiana and southern Mississippi. Since 2009, nearly 100 Manship School undergraduate and graduate students have focused on a dozen unsolved regional hate murders from the 1960s.

The Mag
The Mag is a quarterly lifestyle magazine tailored to the interests of LSU students. The Mag publishes four issues over the course of a single school year, plus one special edition that is mailed directly to the incoming freshmen. 5,000 copies are distributed across campus per issue.

Manship Statehouse Bureau
The Statehouse Bureau is at the heart of the experiential journalism program at the Manship School. In the spring, students cover the Louisiana Legislature for more than 80 news outlets around the state. In the fall, its focus is on in-depth stories about racial and criminal justice for state and national news sites.
