LSU School of Kinesiology launched the Louisiana Nature and Health Alliance on March 20 with the inaugural Louisiana Nature and Health Summit where the national Nature & Health Alliance presented $20K to the newly founded collaborative to support research initiatives and strengthen partnerships across Louisiana.
Missy Korduner, PhD, assistant professor of professional practice in the School of Leadership & Human Resource Development, was recognized by LSU as part of the "We Build Teams That Win" employee recognition program for her work launching the Graduate Student Leadership Initiative.
Rising 6th and 7th graders can apply for three weeks of the free CHSE ChangeMakers summer camp hosted by LSU School of Kinesiology faculty on LSU's Baton Rouge campus in June and July.
Jaclyn Hadfield, PhD, assistant professor in the LSU School of Kinesiology, received the American Short-Term Research Publication Grant from the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
Joy Blanchard, PhD, associate professor of higher education in the Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education, has received the LSU Foundation Distinguished Graduate Faculty Teaching Award, recognizing excellence in graduate-level teaching.
Mary Nunnery-Williams, Manager of Schools and Community Relations at Louisiana A+ Schools (LAA+) at LSU, received the Excellence in Education Award from the Southern University chapter of Phi Delta Kappa (PDK), a nonprofit organization that supports teachers and school leaders by strengthening their interest in the profession through the entire arc of their career.
LSU Kinesiology Professor Senlin Chen, PhD, and his team are developing a novel obesity prevention program to use in Louisiana schools, combining such tactics as virtual pets and coaches with the best science to encourage healthy behaviors.
